Mira and I decided it was time to try out one of the local events, so we headed downtown to Mellon Square to check out Pupsburgh! Growing up in DFW, I’m not really a fan of driving around downtown cities, but much to my surprise, the streets were pretty easy to navigate and not nearly as packed as I expected. Ask me again if I choose to go in the middle of rush hour though!
We definitely missed the open entrance to the parking garage right under Mellon Square and ended up parking a couple blocks away. It was okay though cause the short 6 minute walk gave us a chance to take in the architecture. Mira was definitely irritated cause Mom kept making her sit down along the way to snap some pictures!
Pupsburgh itself was a great little event. There was a raffle with the proceeds going to help animals in need. There were also several other vendors and shelters, but Mira quickly scoped out Salty Paws Pittsburgh. We had been to one in Virgina Beach before, and she begged for some doggie ice cream. I made the poor child wait and walk around with me first, and of course take some more pictures with the downtown architecture in the background. But, we were soon back at the table getting her pup cup … and I went ahead and got her a doughnut doggie bag to take home as well.
It was an awesome first experience hanging out downtown. Check back soon for more adventures!
